The Leaders of Change project is being undertaken as a part of the Choose to Boost Veggies and Fruit theme. The goal of this project is to encourage community partners to make policy and/or program changes that promote and facilitate vegetable and fruit consumption in Hastings and Prince Edward counties.
If you are a not-for-profit organization or an organization that receives public funding, serves kids and their families and are interested in committing to make program/policy changes to increase vegetable and fruit consumption, we hope that you will apply to be a Leader of Change in our community. If you are a successful applicant you could receive a Tower Garden with supplies or a Catered Taste Testing event for your organization!
Applications are also open for local grocery stores that are committed to make a healthy change in their store. To promote vegetable and fruit consumption for kids we want to work with interested grocery stores to create a healthy checkout aisle and/or promote healthy snacks for kids while they are shopping with their families. If you are a successful applicant you could receive up to $1500 worth of promotional items to support your healthy change initiative.

Applications are now closed. Thank you to all those who applied.
The Healthy Kids Community Challenge Hastings Prince Edward Steering Committee reviewed all applications received and ranked them according to their commitment to make a program and/or policy change and their commitment to lead the change in our community.
